NRII medical certification transition

FMCSA’s temporary exemption for paper medical certificates (April 11–October 11, 2026) has ended, and no further nationwide extension is expected. Drivers licensed outside Alaska can no longer rely on a paper certificate as proof of certification, so confirm your examiner’s electronic submission appears on your record. Alaska’s separate exemption was renewed for October 12, 2026 through October 12, 2027. Official exemption notice · Medical certification guide.

October 12 correction

We updated the medical certification notice after the paper-certificate exemption expired on October 11.

September 30 site corrections

We aligned the licensing sequence across guides; corrected disqualification exceptions and several practice answers; separated unanswered quiz results from wrong answers; added dated source links, fee transaction types, and confirmation notes; and introduced resume, bookmarks, checklists, and state comparison. A content or interface update does not mean every older state fee has been reverified.
