Privacy Policy
The short version: StateCDLRequirements.com is built to work without knowing anything about you. We don't ask for your name, we have no accounts, and we run no tracking. Here's exactly how that works.
Quick answer
- Personal data
- We collect none — no accounts, no sign-up, no forms that take your info
- Practice test
- Stores only a best-score number in your browser's localStorage — never sent to us
- Analytics
- Privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that counts visits in aggregate — no personal data, no cross-site tracking
- Advertising
- None active today; no ad pixels or ad cookies run
- Lead-gen
- No live lead-generation forms; referral slots are inert placeholders
Personal information we collect: none
We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) through this website. There is no account to create, no newsletter box, no quiz sign-in, and no contact form. You can read every page and use the practice test without giving us your name, email, phone number, address, or license details. If you choose to email us, we'll have whatever you put in that email — but you're never required to send one to use the site.
The practice test and your browser's localStorage
Our practice test runs entirely in your browser. To let you see whether you're improving, it saves one thing: your best score as a percentage, for each test category. It's stored in your browser's localStorage under keys likecdl-best-general-knowledge — one small number per category.
- It stays on your device. This value is never sent to usor to anyone else — there is no server that receives it.
- It's only a number. We do not store which questions you saw, which answers you picked, how long you took, or any identifier.
- You control it. Clearing your browser's site data (or using private browsing) removes it. If your browser blocks storage, the test still works — it just won't remember your best score.
That's the entire extent of what the site keeps about your activity.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example, which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from (approximate country and referring site), and what kind of device is used. It runs a single lightweight script and does not set cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not track you across other websites. We can't identify you from this data, and we don't try to.
Advertising: the site runs no advertising today — no ad pixels and no advertising cookies. Some pages reserve layout space for it, but until it's actually turned on those slots do nothing and collect nothing. If we activate advertising later, we'll update this policy first.
Lead generation: no live forms
This site does not currently run any lead-generation forms. A few pages reserve a placeholder space where CDL-school referrals could appear later. Today those placeholders are inert — they display a note that they aren't active and they collect no input from you. If we ever launch a form that collects information (for example, to connect you with a school), it will be clearly labeled, optional, and covered by an updated version of this policy.
Cookies
We do not set tracking cookies. The practice test useslocalStorage (described above), which is separate from cookies and never leaves your device. Your browser's own settings let you clear or block this storage at any time.
Information shared with third parties
Because we don't collect personal information, we have nothing to sell, rent, or share. Our pages link to official government sites and, in the future, may link to third-party services; once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies. We don't control those sites.
Children's privacy
This is a general-audience informational site and is not directed to children. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children.
Your choices
You can browse without giving us anything, clear the practice-test score from your browser whenever you like, and choose not to email us. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete on our end.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change — for example, if we turn on analytics or launch a referral form — we'll revise this page and update the date below before the change takes effect.
